William Uricchio is Professor and Director of the Comparative Media Studies Program and Professor of Comparative Media History at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He is also Principal Investigator of the Open Documentary Lab at MIT, which brings technologists, storytellers, and scholars together to advance the new arts of documentary.

Most recently, the Open Documentary Lab at MIT teamed up with IDFA DocLab to create Moments of Innovation, an interactive exhibit and online project that puts the long history of documentary innovation into perspective and speculates about its future.

We had the honor of chatting with William Uricchio to get his take on success in the interactive storytelling domain. He tells us it’s as simple as being immersed, engaged, and just doing it.
